I have had people ask me "Why monitor lizards? What about some cute little chamelions or a nice green iguana?" Well, this is hard to explain.

For those of you who keep monitors, you will know that monitors have some type of attraction. It comes from their personality. You can see it in their eyes...."I'm big, I'm bad, and I'm in control!" Even my little Bandi thinks she is 10 feet long! In my opinion, monitors are the most intelligent of all the reptiles (Don't flame me! This is just my opinion!!) You can almost see their brains working when they are confronted with a situation. While in their territory (enclosure), they are usually not flighty or easily startled. Hey, it's their turf, and they rule it!

Yeah, there is just something about a monitor lizard.
