 * Getting Married Today...An unusual shakeup at the top of the chart
definitely deserves an explanation. Four oldies, including three
re-entries, would only enter upon a life changing experience...which is
what we had last weekend. Yep, after nine years, my girlfriend and I
finally GOT MARRIED on Saturday night! Our first dance as husband and
wife was Debbie Gibson's "For Better Or Worse," which vaults to #1 this week.
(It had previously peaked at #5 in 1995). Our second song, the bridal
party dance, was "Lost In Your Eyes" by Debbie Gibson (which had spent 12
weeks at #1 back in 1989). The father-daughter dance was "Forever Young"
by Rod Stewart. To understand that, you have to understand the symbolism
of the song title. Young is my wife's maiden name (get it?). "Forever
Young" hits a new peak of #3 this week (it originally peaked at #6 in
1988). And the fourth dance, the mother-son dance, was Whitney Houston's
"Greatest Love Of All." That was one of my Mom's favorite songs while
growing up (and mine as well). And to prove that I'm still not THAT
old, "Greatest" was even before my chart existed. As a result, it finally
makes its debut at #4 this week. Had my chart been around then, it
would've been a #1 hit for sure. Overall, it was a great night. The best
day of my life was definitely worth the wait :)...

 * Keeping you forever and for always...Due to the shakeup, the chart is
loaded with backward bullets this week, but one song makes a healthy
half-dozen spot gain. Shania Twain's "Forever And For Always" wins this
week's Robbie Rocket honors by moving 19-13. My bride, a modern day
(1994-present) country music fan, wanted this song in the wedding from the
start...but I didn't really care for it. About 5-6 weeks ago, I finally
started liking the song. And four weeks ago, I finally charted it. So
the gain represents a combination of me liking the song more & more each
week, the meaning of the wedding, and hearing it at the reception. It
could still go #1 but it'll probably land around the top five. Not bad
for a superstar artist who is still looking for that crossover pop hit
from this album...

WHAT'S IN ROB'S MP3 PLAYER? (May 3)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, Napster's on the fritz, which meant I had to go on a "Who
Moved My Cheese" hunt. It'll be only a matter of time before
the RIAA gets its hands on this cheese, too, but at least it's an
alternative for the time being...

Here are the most recent 10 tracks I've downloaded:

 * Swing, Swing-The All-American Rejects
 * La Isla Bonita-Madonna
 * Deeper And Deeper-Madonna
 * If You Needed Somebody-Bad Company
 * There's The Girl-Heart
 * You're Not Alone-Chicago
 * You Know You're Right-Nirvana
 * Now-Def Leppard
 * I Am Mine-Pearl Jam
 * Dilemma-Nelly/Kelly Rowland
 * Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)-Los Del Rio
