The Organ Artists Series (OAS) Committee hosts world-renowned performers at concerts in Pittsburgh several times each year. Over a hundred organists have visited Pittsburgh in the past 25+ years under the sponsorship of this series. Visit that link for information about these special concerts. PITTSBURGH CHAPTER The purpose of the American Guild of Organists is to promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles, to encourage excellence in the performance of organ and choral music, and to provide a forum for mutual support, inspiration, education, and certification of Guild members.
In addition to his long experience in church-music-making, Stephen is an alumnus of Westminster Choir College, where he studied group vocal-techniques with the famous pedagogue, Frauke Haasemann. Douglas has degrees in vocal performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Arizona State University. He also holds a masters degree in speech pathology from Indiana University and is pursuing a PhD at the University of Pittsburgh investigating the cognitive aspects of vocal skill acquisition. Douglas is also a voice clinician and singing voice specialist at the UPMC Voice Center. He is active as a performer and voice-teacher in Pittsburgh, in addition to his clinical work. They both have lots to teach us all!
