Reed Hall Road

State Road 4033 and 4002 Upgrade (Reed Hall Road)

The Inter-Power/AhlCon Partners Management Team completed construction of approximately 4.1 miles of new and 0.5 miles of refurbished existing state road as part of a program to upgrade access to the Colver Power Facilities in 1995.  Land required for the new route was acquired by the Partnership starting in October 1994 and the final deed was acquired in April 1995.

Approximately 100 trucks per day bring additional waste fuel, limestone and propane to the facility. The new roads provide safe and efficient access to the site, minimizing the impact of increased traffic on the facility's neighbors.

The road was designed by GAI Consultants, Inc. and was constructed by New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Inc. Built to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PADOT) standards; construction began in July 1995 and was completed in November 1995. The road project is an outstanding example of cooperation between a number of Commonwealth Agencies, township officials, contractors and the Partnership.

Upon completion, the road was donated to PADOT and formally transferred during a road opening ceremony in November 1995. The final construction bonds were released by PADOT in May 1998. Maintenance of the road is the responsibility of PADOT. The township named Reed Hall Road in recognition of the effort by John Reed and John Hall to complete this project. Employees of A/C Power-Colver Operations and Inter-Power Consultants have joined the PA “Adopt a Highway” program to help in keeping the surrounding area free of waste materials.
