Bee Hive Bake Oven Class
Saturday, May 12, 10am - 4pm
*** Registration Required ***
Cooking over an open fire? Of course! Camping trips, backyard cookouts, winter fires in the fireplace....
In April, you have the chance to learn how to make a terrific meal
over an open fire! While today's meal will focus on 18th century foods (this IS an history museum...), what you learn can be applied to any era.
Beginning with the making of the fire, Judy and Ed Tutino will guide you as you
prepare the mid-day meal, recalling the days when the fireplace served as both heat for the home and the center of the kitchen.
Cooking at the hearth is not limited to stew and soup! You will make breads, meat dishes and, of course, desserts! The day is completed by sharing the meal you have prepared.
In May, you will have a chance to find out how to make an entire meal in a Bee Hive Bake Oven. Don't expect to have one of those on your next camping trip? Well, take advantage of
this opportunity to try it here! You will learn to fire the oven, prepare a full meal, and of course, share the meal at the end of the day!
Judy and Ed are terrific and entusiastic cooks. You will not be dissappointed with your day! Open to teens and adults interested in a hands-on class.
Fee for either day-long class, including all materials is $40.00 and class size is limited to 6 participants. ***Advance registration is required.***
